We live under the illusion that the world perceived by our senses is the only one that exists. However, beneath the surface of the mundane, a constant language is at play: the invisible world sends us signs at every step, drawing maps for our evolution. The problem is not a lack of messages, but a lack of attention.
Most of us walk through life ignoring these signs, absorbed by inertia or rigid mental structures that prevent us from seeing what is right in front of our eyes. Only a curious mind, willing to question and observe beyond the obvious, is capable of catching these whispers from the universe. Curiosity is not a mere pastime; it is a navigational tool. Without it, messages are lost in the noise; with it, every event becomes a lesson.
This reality became undeniable to me just a few hours ago.
Yesterday, my project—my personal brand—suffered an unexpected standstill. It was a jolt that left me paralyzed, mired in that sadness that emerges when you doubt if all the love and effort you have poured into your work was in vain. I felt disarmed, with no idea where to turn.
Today, while accompanying my daughter to the park, my mind was still caught in that loop of uncertainty. I sat down to wait for her and, almost by chance, my attention shifted to a flowering tree beside me. It was filled with bumblebees (Bombus). I had never seen so many at once; despite the respect they command, I was captivated. They seemed to be in a hypnotic dance, and, almost without thinking, I recorded them.
When I got home, driven by the curiosity that pushes me to seek the meaning behind events, I researched them. What I discovered was a direct response from the invisible world to my state of mind.
The bumblebee is much more than an insect; it is a symbol of power and overcoming limitations. Legend has it that, due to its weight and the small size of its wings, it should not be able to fly according to the laws of logic, yet it flies anyway. It ignores the limits imposed by its environment. Its flight, which traces a figure-eight, teaches us about adaptability and the ability to find unique solutions in the face of difficulty.
In that moment, everything clicked. The bumblebee is a totem that invites us to discover hidden capabilities and activate our creative potential when adversity tries to stop us. It represents unwavering determination, authority, and the courage needed to defend one’s own vital space against external interference.
If I hadn’t been a curious person, if I had simply looked at the tree without looking beyond it, I would have missed this message. I would have seen only insects. But by paying attention, I received the answer I needed to stop giving up and to start searching, with determination, for the creative solution my project requires.
The universe does not wait for us to be attentive; it simply fills us with signs everywhere, giving us the opportunity to see at least one of them. The question is: which signs are you choosing to see today?
