There are people who walk through this world feeling, from a very young age, that they were the only ones who didn’t receive the instruction manual. If you are one of them, you know well the feeling of being an outsider, of feeling vulnerable and hypersensitive in an environment that doesn’t understand your way of processing life. You have spent years feeling too intense, problematic, or simply like a stranger in a world that has often made you believe there is something wrong with the way you are.
Today I want to tell you: there is nothing wrong with you.
I have lived this myself since I was born. I never felt I belonged, not even to my own family. If it weren’t for the physical resemblance to my mother, I would have thought I was adopted, because it was evident that we didn’t even have a similar way of feeling and seeing the world. Everything hurt me ten times more; everything affected me: a look, a comment, even the silences. It was as if I could read between the lines, perceive the pain, the rage, and the sadness in others, and that weight eventually overwhelmed me.
For years, I thought I had a serious problem with my social skills. It was very difficult for me to make friends; I was never the extrovert who knew what to say or how to fit into the group. I felt clumsy and out of rhythm. But, over time, I understood that it wasn’t a social incapacity: it’s just that superficial speeches and empty chatter bored me to tears. My soul has always sought that depth that only a few people manage to sustain, and that lack of affinity with the mundane made me feel like a perpetual stranger.
Because of who I was, I was a victim of bullying. Rejection and mockery became my daily bread. How many times did I return home in tears or filled with a deep rage at the insensitivity of others? To avoid that constant pain, I ended up excluding myself. I isolated myself. I went inward. Within me lived an ardent desire to understand myself and the world I lived in, to overcome my limitations, even though many times my fears turned into fierce monsters that barely allowed me to breathe.
But as I grew up, I started finding those few people who were more compatible with me. I started finding my place. And along that path, I realized something fundamental: the very thing that had caused me problems my whole life—my extreme sensitivity—was actually the greatest gift life could have given me.
Although it took me a long time to understand it, I managed to see my own greatness. I realized that this feeling of not fitting in is not accidental: it is because our souls do not come from the same place as everyone else’s. There is a difference in our origin, a distinct source that makes the frequency of this world feel foreign and, at times, painful to us. We are ancient souls trying to navigate a terrain that was not designed for us.
And none of this is by chance. We are here for a reason, with a mission that each of us must discover. We each have a unique and original way of fulfilling it, but the requirement is non-negotiable: you can only carry it out as long as you remain true to yourself, to what you think, feel, and truly desire. Betraying your essence is the only thing that prevents you from seeing what you came here for.
I have decided to open this space to weave a network among those who, like me, have decided to stop hiding. This is a refuge for all who know, deep down, that their difference is their greatest strength. Here, you don’t need to fit in, you don’t need to apologize for your intensity, and you don’t need to make yourself small so others can feel comfortable.
Here, your sensitivity is welcome. Your way of seeing the world is the gift this community needs.
Welcome home. You are no longer alone.
I would love to meet you. If what you have read resonates with you, if you feel this is your story too, tell me. Write to me, share with me a fragment of what you have lived or what keeps you going today. This space begins with you.
